Effective team leadership is paramount to the productivity of any organisation. Team leadership requires essential management skills such as motivating and management of a team, to problem solving, mentoring and decision making. The Apprenticeship will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to perform effectively as a team leader.

This apprenticeship is suitable for employees who are already practicing as a team leader or those aspiring to this position. The Apprenticeship will provide them with a solid foundation on which to develop their leadership skills, help them to motivate team members and achieve agreed targets.

The range of units includes:

  • Plan, allocate and monitor work of a team
  • Make effective decisions
  • Support team members in identifying, developing and implementing new ideas
  • Manage knowledge in own area of responsibility
  • Set objectives and provide support for team members
  • Manage or support equality for opportunity, diversity and inclusion in own area of responsibility
  • Manager conflict in a team

In addition to completing work based assessments apprentices will complete a knowledge certificate and depending on previous qualifications Functional Skills in English and Maths. The knowledge certificate may include:

  • Developing Working Relationships with Team Members
  • Developing a Team
  • Coaching Skills in Team Leading and Management
