Allergy Awareness for those Working in Adult Social Care Level 2
This qualification will help students develop an understanding of allergies, their causes and what to do in the case of an allergic reaction.

This course is catered for those who work with adults.
By the end of the course, students will understand allergies, what causes them and know what to do in case of an allergic reaction.

- Food labelling and packaging:
- The importance of food labelling
- Regulations for food labelling
- Packaging regulations
- Allergy awareness for those working in adult health and social care:
- The signs and effects of allergic reactions
- How to reduce the risk of an allergic reaction
- How to perform first aid on those who have experienced a severe reaction
- Reducing allergic reaction risk through avoidance and food preparation
- Medical ID jewellery
Candidates will require the following equipment for distance learning:
- PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (a webcam is preferred but not essential)
- Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome)
- An email account for file sharing
