Our new Trainer in Service Industries will be a key part of the team, delivering engaging sessions, providing learner feedback, and ensuring students are making expected progress and working towards outcomes.
The opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Trainer to join our team at Independent Training Services (ITS), specialising in the Service Industries sector. As a Trainer, you will be delivering engaging and high-quality learning experiences to apprentices within any of the following areas where you are occupationally competent to do so:
Customer Service, Administration, Leadership, Hospitality, Human Resources, Project Management, Marketing, Digital, and Financial Services.
You will help learners develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to achieve their career goals and progress in their chosen fields.
Your role will involve planning and delivering innovative and motivational learning sessions, guiding learners throughout their journey from short-term progress to long-term career aspirations. This will include conducting initial assessments, offering advice, and delivering comprehensive inductions for both learners and employers.
Key responsibilities include creating tailored lesson plans, developing resources, and ensuring apprenticeship requirements such as the 20% off-job training are met. You will also integrate key content, including Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values, into your sessions. Regular assessments, including portfolio reviews and End Point Assessment (EPA) preparation, will also be part of your duties, along with providing timely and constructive feedback to help learners stay on track.
Alongside your teaching duties, you will maintain accurate records of learner progress, conduct regular reviews, and collect feedback to continually improve the quality of training. You will also engage with learners and employers to gather case studies for promotional purposes. Additionally, you will contribute to ITS’s business development by generating leads across various funding streams and supporting the promotion of the curriculum portfolio.

You’ll also embed key themes such as Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, Prevent, and British Values into your sessions, ensuring a well-rounded learning experience. Alongside teaching, you’ll conduct assessments, provide constructive feedback, and guide learners through their apprenticeship journey, from their initial induction to preparing for End Point Assessments.
Strong organisational skills will be essential as you manage learner progress, maintain accurate records, and ensure all apprenticeship requirements, including 20% off-the-job training, are met. You’ll also engage with employers, gather feedback, and create case studies to continually improve and promote training programmes.
This role also involves contributing to business development by identifying opportunities across various funding streams and supporting the promotion of ITS’s curriculum portfolio. Your ability to connect with learners, employers, and stakeholders, coupled with your enthusiasm for teaching, will make a real difference in shaping future careers.

The Opportunity
In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning sessions aimed at supporting individuals to gain the essential employability skills and personal development qualifications they need to secure sustained employment. Your role will involve teaching a variety of topics, including job search strategies, positive attitudes, health and safety, mental health awareness, personal development, safeguarding, and customer service skills. These areas are vital for learners as they prepare to enter the workforce or progress further in their careers.
You will work closely with learners across South and West Yorkshire, providing them with the support and guidance needed to enhance their employability prospects. The courses are delivered in partnership with Jobcentre Plus and local employers, which means you’ll be helping people from diverse backgrounds gain the skills they need to move into sustainable, long-term employment.
You will be responsible for tailoring your teaching approach to meet the individual needs of each learner, ensuring that they develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills required for success in their chosen field. You will also have the opportunity to work with local employers, creating links that benefit both the learners and the wider community.
As part of this role, you will ensure learners are fully prepared for the real-world challenges they may face in the workplace by covering essential topics such as safeguarding, British Values, and the Prevent Duty. Additionally, you will focus on improving learners' English and maths skills, which are crucial for both career progression and personal development.
You will be involved in all stages of the learner journey, from conducting initial assessments and delivering inductions to providing continuous support and tracking their progress. This role also includes regularly collecting feedback from learners and employers to evaluate the effectiveness of the courses and ensure we continue to meet their needs.
