    • The causes and effects of depression on individuals
    • How depression affects those around them
    • How depression can be managed
  • Understanding post-natal depression:
    • What is meant by the term ‘postnatal depression’
    • How postnatal depression affects women and others around them
  • Understanding bipolar disorder:
    • The causes and effects of bipolar disorder
    • Ways in which bipolar disorder can be managed
  • Understanding schizophrenia:
    • The causes of schizophrenia
    • The media’s representation of this condition
  • Understanding dementia:
    • What dementia is
    • How it affects an individual
    • Ways in which dementia can be managed
  • Understanding eating disorders:
    • In-depth knowledge of eating disorders
    • The causes of eating disorders
    • How they can affect the individual and others
  • Understanding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD):
    • The causes of this condition
    • The effect it can have on an individual and others

Course requirements

Candidates will require the following equipment for distance learning:

  • PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (a webcam is preferred but not essential)
