Managing Progress:

  • Working with the status date.
  • Updating project progress.
  • Inactive tasks.
  • Rescheduling outstanding work.
  • Setting task reminders.
  • Updating ‘actual’ progress.
  • Working with progress lines.

Managing Resources and Project Costings:

  • Using the task inspector to resolve allocation issues.
  • Delaying resource work and assigning overtime.
  • Working with work contours.
  • Escalating resource costs.
  • Adding fixed task costs.
  • Viewing costs and updating actual costs.
  • Working with the earned value table.
  • Reporting project costings.

Sharing Resources:

  • Creating a resource pool.
  • Sharing resources across projects.
  • Viewing resource allocations.
  • Updating resource pools and sharer files.

Creating Custom Projects and Templates:

  • Creating custom calendars.
  • Assigning calendars to tasks and resources.
  • Creating, editing and copying tables.
  • Custom fields.
  • Sharing elements across project files.
  • Modifying the global template.
  • Creating and using custom templates.

Course requirements

This course can be delivered remotely or in a classroom environment, to suit your requirements.

Attendees must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Project and understand the basics of creating and manipulating project plans. 

Attendees must have the following equipment to attend this training remotely:

  • PC or laptop with a microphone and speakers (webcam is preferred but not essential).
  • Access to the internet and web browser application (e.g. Google Chrome).
  • Microsoft Excel installed on the PC or laptop.
  • An email account for file sharing.
  • A second screen is ideal but not essential.
