Sector-based Work Academy Programmes (SWAPs) are a great way to create a skilled workforce for your business. We have designed these sector-specific adult skills training programmes across a range of vocational areas, to help meet your immediate and future recruitment, induction and staff development needs. These fully funded programmes will source the right skills to sustain and grow your business.

A Sector-based Work Academy Programme can last up to six weeks and has three components:

  1. Pre-employment training matched to the needs of your business sector; giving students employability skills and, where relevant, licenses to practice.
  2. A work experience placement; a great opportunity for your business to identify talent and for the individual to cement their knowledge and understanding of the required role.
  3. A guaranteed job interview or help with the employer’s recruitment process.

We offer free recruitment and training for the following sectors:

  • Childcare

  • Construction

  • Customer Service

  • Food Production/Manufacturing

  • Health and Social Care

  • Hospitality and Catering

  • Security and Events

  • Warehousing and Logistics

We can support recruitment into many different job roles, for example: Security Officer, Support Worker, Food Production Operative or Construction worker.

Our programmes have an outstanding track record of helping people to upskill, retrain and secure employment across a range of different sectors nationally. Currently over 80% of our students are successful at interview and progress into employment.

We offer a free recruitment service for employers, introducing job ready candidates with valuable skills, recognised qualifications and industry licenses. Our programmes are co-designed in consultation with employers to give our students skills which are required in the workplace, and an advantage in the job market.
